Atlansun, the solar industry association for the Greater West of France, brought together all the industry's professionals in Lorient for the 2nd edition of the Rencontres solaires de l'Ouest.
Laurent Mimaud, Director of CréaWatt Group', took part in the round table discussion "Solar energy under constraint, between energy ideals and territorial realities."
A number of constraints were discussed, and ways of overcoming them were suggested:

The weight of traditional panels prevents the solarization of certain professional building roofs, which were not designed to accommodate them. R&D carried out by CreaWatt Group' has led to the design and development of the Luxsiol solution: composed of a solar panel 6 times lighter, and an innovative fastening system (with a hook-and-loop fastener and an exclusive adhesive), it can be fitted to any type of roof (bitumen, PVC or EPDM flat roofs, steel tanks, zinc), without having to reinforce the structure beforehand.

Insurers are sometimes reluctant to cover new techniques; CréaWatt Group' met with several refusals before concluding a partnership with Generali France, which insures it as a manufacturer, as well as its partner installers.

ATEX is a technical assessment procedure formulated by experts for an innovative product or process. However, the procedures for obtaining them are long and costly, which can act as a brake on innovation.
